This Moorish Revival building was built by Franklin Smith in 1887 and was called the Casa Monica Hotel. In 1889 Henry Flagler purchased the hotel and renamed it the Cordova Hotel. The depression forced the closure of the hotel in 1932. In 1968 it was reopened as the St. Johns County Courthouse and was restored in 1999 by Richard Kessler as the Casa Monica Hotel.
