Hurricane Ivan
Ivan made landfall near Gulf Shores, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida in the early morning hours of September the 16th. Only fringe affects were felt in the northeast Florida/southeast Georgia area when some of the feeder bands made their way north through the region on the 16th and 17th. The remnants of Ivan paid a return visit to Florida on the 20th and 21st as a strong pressure gradient set up northeaster conditions between strong high pressure to the north and hurricane Jeanne to the southeast.
