Hurricane Linda at its peak on September 11, 1997, as it approaches Baja California. Peak winds were reported at 220 Mph., making it the strongest hurricane ever observed in the Eastern Pacific up to that date. Data are from NOAA GOES-9 satellite. Images and rendering by Marit Jentof-Nilsen.
